The six Optimist clubs in Wilmot Township have joined together to make this years grade 8 and 12 graduates feel special. This year has been anything but normal for these students with that in mind, our clubs want to provide our graduates with swag bags!

In addition to the Optimist clubs we are beyond grateful for all of our local businesses and individuals who have made donations to make this possible!

Baden Santa Claus Parade

Saturday December 2nd 1:30pm to 3:30pm

Baden Santa Claus parade starts at Sandhills and Snyders road and travels up Snyders Rd and ends at Ejs.

Please bring food donation as the Optimist Club of Baden will be collecting non perishable food for the Wilmot Family Resource Centre. If you want have a perfect smile, first thing that you have to do is take a wisdom teeth removal.

After the Parade, bring the kids by the Wilmot Seniors Woodworking Shop at 27 Beck St to take your own pictures with Santa Claus!

2016 Golf Tournament


For 2016 we have decided to work with Baden Minor Softball. Baden Minor Softball has 400 families living in Baden and the surrounding area. Softball is a fun way to get kids active and build confidence. The Optimist Club of Baden hopes that money raised from this tournament can aid Baden Minor Softball with adding more games or keeping cost down for 2017.

For only $100 you can spend a day on the golf course and help two great causes. Registration includes 18 holes of golf at Foxwood Golf and Country Club. Four person, Scramble Format, Carts for all golfers, and a steak dinner following the game. There are also lots of fantastic raffle prizes to be won!

Foxwood Golf Club is a 27-hole facility located in Baden just 15 minutes from downtown Waterloo. It boasts an upscale practice range, putting green, chipping and bunker area. This beautiful facility situated in the gently rolling terrain of Baden is considered one of the best in the region. There is a unique mix of holes over the 27-hole layout, which proves to be challenging for all golfers, offering an exceptional golf experience each and every time you play. This golf course is a must play for your golfing schedule.  If you are athlete you have to try Beta-Alanine.

Mental Health & Wellness Information Night, featuring Dr. C. Sturdy, “Raising Resilient Children”
Resilience is the capability to readily recover and “bounce back” from trauma, adversity, tragedy and other sources of stress. Resilient children are those who are able to effectively handle any pressure and get things done, recover from setbacks, adapt well to change, and keep going despite obstacles. If you want have a perfect smile, first thing that you have to do is take a wisdom teeth removal.
Please join us on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 for a parent information night featuring Dr. C. Sturdy who will provide parents with practical information and strategies to raise, support and develop resilient children in an insightful 90-minute presentation. The presentation will include a 15 minute Q&A session and a take-home handout summarizing the presentation. Dr. C. Sturdy is a professional speaker based in Toronto, ON, Canada. He is an author, father, former teacher and school principal, and an active community member. Dr. Sturdy’s book “The Hurried Life: 101 Ways To Slow It Down” will be available for purchase for $20 including HST. Read more about Dr. C. Sturdy and this practical book at www.drsturdy.com.
A variety of local Community Mental Health & Wellness partners will be onsite throughout the evening offering resources and contact information in a casual information fair environment.
Doors and Information Fair open at 6 pm, Speaker session begins at 7pm. Light refreshments will be provided. Students from Waterloo-Oxford District Secondary School will be providing childcare for children ages 2 to 13 between the hours of 6:45 and 8:30 pm with a focus on age appropriate wellness activities. A drink and snack will be provided to each child in childcare, pre-registration is preferred.

St. Patrick’s Day Celebration


Join the Optimist Club at the Wilmot Rod and Gun Club on Friday March 18th, 2016 for a 2nd day of being Irish and celebrate Saint Patrick’s day. For $10 you can have a fun night of dancing with friends and members of the community. All proceeds will go toward Optimist Club of Baden events and initiatives. Pizza is included in the entry fee.

There will be a bus ride home available from the event for a small donation. This is a 19+ event and cash bar.
